Agam Live Performance

Agam

“Agam” is a multiple award winning Contemporary Carnatic Rock Band from Bangalore. Their music is a blend of “Carnatic music” and “Rock”. All the band members are software professionals and belong to South India. Most of them did their engineering from BITS Pilani. They work full time in IT companies but, this does not deter them from pursuing their passion for music.

The band was formed in the year 2003 and got its big break year in the year 2007 when they participated in a band hunt called “Ooh la la la” hosted by SUN TV. They were adjudged as “winners” by the judge A.R.Rahman. The current team members include Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals and violin), T Praveen Kumar (lead guitar), Jagadish Natarajan (rhythm guitar), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards and lyricist), Vignesh Lakshminarayanan (bass guitar and backing vocals), Sivakumar Nagarajan (ethnic percussions), and Ganesh Ram Nagarajan (drums and backing vocals).

They gained popularity post 2010 and by now they have performed in more than 200 live concerts across the country. They are regular at Hard Rock Cafe in Bangalore and Hyderabad. They have also performed in different music festivals in the country like Chennai Sangamam, The MAD Festival, The great Indian October fest (Kingfisher), The Fireflies Festival, NH7 weekender, The Storm festival and The Mojo Rising Festival (to name a few).

In November 2013, the band performed at Esplanade Theatres, Singapore as a part of kalaautsavam which is an Indian Festival of Arts that presents an array of classical to contemporary arts performances during the festive season of Deepavali.

Agam’s performance at NCBS

National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), one of the premier research institutes in India, frequently hosts cultural events in its campus. I have captured all such events time and again and they can be viewed at my blog and galleries page.

Today, I will be presenting some of the selected photographs from the live music concert of Agam at NCBS. The concert was a part of the cultural evening as organized for the 7th Bangalore Microscopy Course, 2015. It was a fantastic concert and was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
